Remembering Prof. Chiu Man-Chun, Founder of Children’s Kidney Fund

With deepest sorrow, we regret to announce the passing of Prof. Chiu Man-Chun, founder of the Children's Kidney Fund on 29 September 2021. To his family and loved ones, we convey our most sincere sympathy.

Prof. Chiu founded the Children's Kidney Fund in 1996 by assembling a group of medical professionals, lawyers, social workers, family members of the children kidney patients and concerned individuals, to provide financial assistance, facilitate mutual support, organise related activities, educate and disseminate medical knowledge and information related to kidney health, while support relevant medical research and training. Prof. Chiu had been the Chairperson of the Fund and remained a Councillor after retiring as the chairperson until his demise. He contributed significantly to developing the Fund, with strong professional dedication and admirable foresight. He loved his patients and colleagues and was committed to bringing up the younger generations. He was highly respected both inside and outside the medical field.

Prof. Chiu is dearly missed. Pledge to sustain his mission with the Children's Kidney Fund is assured, to continue creating a better life for the children kidney patients and their families.
